LightSpider 4-TX ™ - Quad LightSpider HD Video to Fiber Bridge

The LightSpider™ is an innovative fiber optic point to point bridge for long distance transport of HDMI, audio, RS232 serial data, and infrared signals. It can carry this set of signals up to 1,000 feet (305 meters) over a single strand of low cost multimode fiber cable. The LightSpider 4-TX™ consists of 4 LightSpiders in a single 1RU rack mount chassis for convenience of centrally locating all source equipment at one location.

The LightSpiders are able to communicate all of these signals over a single strand of either 62.5/125 micron or 50/125 micron multimode fiber cable (one fiber per LightSpider). No additional Cat5 or additional fibers are required to achieve full HD with HDCP encryption and EDID communications.

Features and Benefits

Go up to 1,000 feet without any concern of signal degradation, HDCP dropouts and errors, or video 'sparkles'.
Up to 1080p 60Hz at max length - no derating of video capabilities as your cable gets longer.
Full EDID communications - EDID display information is carried all the way through the system, so no need to 'copy' EDID or worry about it getting erased.
RS232 serial (bi-directional)- allows remote control of any display that has an RS232 control port. Great for power on/off control of projectors and flat panels.
IR backlink - allows the end user to use a universal IR remote at the display, and transport those IR codes back to the equipment.
Auxiliary analog audio - use for local amp w/in wall speakers, or support audio to the display when audio over HDMI is not available.

Cables and Termination

If you have experience with installing and terminating multimode LC fiber, great! We don't need you to do anything different.

However if you are new to fiber optics, we have a very easy to use kit for terminating fiber.
