NeoPro Introduces Fiber Optic Product Line
Orlando, FL, March 12, 2009 – Neothings, Inc. with their NeoPro brand of custom integration video products has announced its entrance into next generation video and signal distribution over fiber optic cable. The technology will ultimately allow all video, audio, data, and control communications to and from a zone to be accomplished over a single fiber cable.
A key part of the technology is Digital Light Interface (DLI™) by OWLink Technology, Inc. DLI uses the advanced optical wave division multiplexing (WDM) scheme to transmit uncompressed video/audio and other data. With OWLink’s patented technology, DLI allows the transmission of high speed HD digital video, high quality digital audio, IR remote control information, USB, LAN, RS232 and other control and data information, all through a thin, single fiber.
NeoPro’s initial fiber product is the LightSpider™, an HDMI, RS232, and analog audio bridge device that will send the group of signals in excess of 300 feet. “We designed the LightSpider for custom integrators needs for installing flat panels in remote locations. 300 feet is our minimum distance requirement and in reality using better quality fiber cables, distances can be much greater”, states Bill Paul, CEO of Neothings/NeoPro. “Over time we will create comprehensive solutions for all audio, video, data, and control signal distribution needs in the residential space and beyond.”
The LightSpider will be on display in Orlando, FL at the EHX Spring show starting March 12, in booth 546, and also in the new product showcase in booth 322. OWLink Technology will also be present with NeoPro in booth 546 demonstrating future DLI based products from other partners.
“Digital Video is obviously the future, but until now, it has not been practical to use as a whole house solution. We believe that the basic cabling infrastructure of the home can be completely fiber with DLI”, adds Mr. Paul.
